Do I need to work out before I join a gym?

RiseUp Fitness has been training our community for over 7 years now - so we’ve worked out with people from every phase of life. Young people, older people, people who ran 10 miles every day, people who hadn’t worked out in years, people with injuries, people with training goals, people who wanted to lose weight, gain muscle… you name it!

We’ve also talked with a lot of people who were considering trying out RiseUp, but weren’t sure yet. In those conversations, one of the most popular questions we’d get is:

“Do I need to work out before I come to RiseUp?”

The answer? A resounding NO!

It’s always a little (or a lot!) nerve-wracking to walk into a new gym or studio. Every single owner and trainer at RiseUp would agree with you!

But the whole purpose of RiseUp is to welcome you and meet you at your level - whatever that is.

Our goal and purpose is to guide you through the journey of working out. We’ll be there to show you how to use the equipment, give you recommendations for the right paces and weights for you, demonstrate technique, and help you with modifications.

So if you’re considering joining a workout program like RiseUp, you don’t need to meet any minimum level of “fitness” before walking in the door.
